Meet Mitch Hale
Mitch is an LCSW (#136976) working with clients in-person in West LA and virtually with those located anywhere in the state of California.
Mitchell Hale, LCSW (he/him)
People who work with Mitch often have fought hard to get where they are but struggle to enjoy the fruits of their labors due to scars from the past. These scars keep them feeling anxious despite everything they have achieved, apprehensive of being close to others while desperately wanting camaraderie, or small when they want to feel expansive. These scars may also contribute to emotions that are challenging to manage or behaviors that once were helpful, but now make life and relationships more challenging.
Whatever is leading you seek therapy, with Mitch you can expect to:
Learn the function of thoughts, emotions, and behaviors and how to turn them into allies instead of saboteurs
Uncover what’s getting in the way of your dream life
Learn tangible, evidence-based skills to make desired changes
Unpack life’s complexities in a non-judgmental and affirming space

Training and Experience
Mitch completed his bachelor’s degree in finance at Brigham Young University in Utah but no longer associates himself with Mormonism, the religion that sponsors BYU. While working his first jobs in investment banking and corporate finance, Mitch discovered his passion for mental health and soon after entered graduate school to become a therapist. While he's chosen therapy over business, Mitch incorporates valuable lessons he learned from the industry into his clinical work with clients.
Mitch completed his Master’s in Social Work with an emphasis in integrated health at California State University, Long Beach, one of the highest ranked Social Work programs in California. There he completed internships as a therapist for Los Angeles Unified School District (LAUSD) and The LGBTQ Center Long Beach. Since graduating Mitch has worked in the Trauma Recovery Center network, providing trauma-informed therapy to victims of crime and for the past several years has worked as a full-time therapist in West Los Angeles and virtually across California.
Mitch is trained in and incorporates several evidence-based modalities into his work including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), Narrative Exposure Therapy (NET), and Motivational Interviewing (MI). Mitch applies a wholistic approach, considering how his clients’ race, class, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, health, and physical abilities contribute to how they navigate their worlds. He works primarily with adults and teenagers.
