ABOUT US
When curiosity leads, change follows.
We help kids, teens, adults, parents, and couples develop clearer insight—so that self-acceptance and values-driven change can coexist.
Therapy that’s both evidence-based and deeply human.
EVIDENCE-BASED THERAPY, PERSONALIZED FOR YOU.
We help people who ARE ANXIOUS, SENSITIVE, and BURNT-OUT enjoy the lives they’ve worked so HARD TO BUILD.

A SEMI-BUSINESS BIO
Thoughtful therapists. Real people.
Founded by Brooke Schwartz, LCSW, Sawtelle Psychotherapy Group is a team of curious, sensitive, and creative humans with meaningful stories behind our journeys to (and back to) LA. We love the work we do—and we know we would not be as effective as therapists without being whole people.
We are children, siblings, partners, and parents. We are therapists and therapy-goers. Our hallways are for catching up on reality TV. The kitchen is for an occasional cry.
We are committed to the ongoing process of wholeness—so we can support you in yours.

We prioritize purpose.
Much of what we bring to our sessions — the questions we ask, our tone of voice, the homework we assign — is meant to bring you one step closer to your goals.
We don’t sit back and wait for change to happen.
We can’t afford to if we expect to help you heal. In sessions we’ll cheer, challenge, and redirect so you know we’re with you in the process and guiding you along the way.
HOW WE APPROACH THERAPY.
That is, stuff we really, really care about:
We believe in the power of the therapeutic relationship.
And researchers do too! Yes, being therapists is our job. But we’re also people who genuinely care about you and your wellbeing, and we’ll make sure you know it!
We use evidence-based therapies and interventions.
We’ll bring to session a variety of research-backed therapeutic techniques to ensure you’re receiving the highest quality care. More on that below.
WHY SAWTELLE PSYCH?
There are so many amazing therapists out there. Why choose us?
It matters to us that you’re in therapy for only as long as you want or need. As Steven Hayes says, “Get out of your mind and into your life.” We see our work together as supporting you in building a stronger relationship with yourself and with your life outside of therapy.
To do that, we strike a careful balance between acceptance and change. Therapy with us doesn’t offer unending validation that keeps you stuck, and it also won’t push change before you’re truly ready. We’re intentional about both—because this balance is where the growth happens.
